Cardinal Achievement Program (CAP) is a new initiative directly addressing success outcomes, completion rates, and other equity gaps at Skagit Valley College (51³Ô¹Ï) for first generation and income qualifying students.

CAP coaches will implement a coaching model into advising that provides students with personalized mentoring, proactive academic interventions, and an increased connection to campus resources.


Who we are


CAP is a new initiative created to directly address success outcomes, completion rates, and other equity gaps at 51³Ô¹Ï for 200 students. CAP coaches will create and implement a model that provides personalized coaching and mentoring throughout their college career, provide academic interventions when needed, and an increased connection to campus and our larger 51³Ô¹Ï community. CAP will also lead Summer Bridge cohort programs for approximately 70 local high school seniors.

Veronica (they/them)  is bringing 10 years of higher education experience to the Cardinal Achievement Program. They formally served as the Certified Athletic Trainer for Cardinal Athletics from 2013-2019. They have a passion for helping others and is excited to return to Skagit.

Alondra (she/her) is a graduate of 51³Ô¹Ï’s BASAM program and brings invaluable lived experience as a Skagit Valley community member. She is eager to help kick-off this program and enjoys exploring her cultural roots while traveling with her family.
